And if not for that then you’ll find experimenting with a variety of scented, ayurvedic, herbal and chemical free shampoos and conditioners, time and again. But, do you ever wonder, what was being used back in the ancient times, when none of these shampoos came into existence?

We understand how important it is to nourish hair and for the same reason, we are going to share with you two ancient hair care remedies that you’ll never find in any of the big branded shampoos….

#1. Banana Coconut Oil pack

Take one banana (two for long hair) and mash it up enough to make a paste; now add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil. Mash and mix piece of camphor (optional, to clean dirty scalp). Apply this pack to your scalp and hair roots. Let it sit for up to 20 minutes; now rinse with any regular shampoo or homemade shikakai.

#2. Egg and curd mask

This is one mask that every grandmother would swear by. Beat an egg mixed with 2 teaspoon of curd. Massage your hair root with this pack for 10-15 minutes. Rinse using any normal shampoo. To get rid of the odor, add a teaspoon of lemon juice in your shampoo. Avoid washing your hair with warm or hot water, if the egg is used.

#3. Multani Mitti

Soak Multani Mitti in water overnight. You can massage your hair well with coconut oil in the night. Next morning, before washing your hair, apply this paste well to your hair. Rinse after 10 minutes. No need for rinsing with shampoo.
